Extremadura
– 5 days - 21-25 April – 3* City Hotel (Caceres).
Half board including wine and water.- Price
298€
Yet another face of
Spain.
As the name suggests, this is an area of many extremes. Climate,
terrain, culture, economically. From flat arid land to forests, mountain
ranges, to lakes. The cities too, are all very different. Based in a 3*
hotel which is only a few minutes walk from the historical centre of the
extremely interesting city of
Caceres. Spring is a
delightful time to visit this area. All the spring flowers add
colour to the fields, Storks fill the skies,
their chicken filled nests occupy almost
every high point on almost every building. Excursions take
in Guadalupe. Famous for the Virgin of
Guadalupe, Merida, which has a
a fabulous Roman
ampitheatre and acueduct,
Plasencia with impressive gardens and
medieval buildings, Trujillo with castle and a strong history reflecting
the conquistadores who helped conquer south America. This is one of
the less visited parts of
Spain. Leaving it a little less affected by tourism than
other areas. |
